Whither the King?
U.S. growth was once buoyant and bubbly,
And by turns became dismal and ugly;
Now the world's in suspense,
As it's poised on the fence
'Twixt resurging, or bottoming doubly.
I enjoy your limericks, but not all of them are true limericks. Today's limerick scans properly, with the proper number of syllables per line, and it makes it much funnier.
Somehow they're not quite as good when they don't exactly fit the pattern a limerick is supposed to have. I understand it's a big job to come up with one of these every day, so maybe it's just not possible, but I thought I'd comment anyway.

Thanks for that very thoughtful comment. I will endeavor to give those rhymes the properly rollicking rhythm :-)
